Unmerited favor

My mind cannot fathom the extent of your love and grace.

Continually cleaning up the mess I always manage to make.

You delight in showing me mercy every moment of every day.

In your love is where I find who I am.

Giving me the chance to be made new with every breath that I take.

The love you offer comes without a charge.

Yet, you paid for my life at the highest cost.

All the while knowing that my appreciation would repeatedly fall short of the sacrifice you made.

Willingly bearing the weight of my selfish ways.

Experiencing unimaginable torment all the way to the grave.

For when you died you paved the way.

Ensuring the debt I owed was permanently paid.
